My Time at the Arbonne GTC 2016 Conference
Last week, as an Arbonne Independent Consultant, I went to the Arbonne Conference in Vegas and combined health and wellness as an Arbonne independent consultant with a vacation in Vegas-baby! Everyone needs time off and combining it with an educational/business conference is a great way to get it all. Arbonne is a health and wellness company. We are becoming increasingly more health conscious and we are looking for products to help us look and feel our best at every age. According to Arbonne, “The idea to provide skincare products unparalleled in quality and effectiveness developed in Switzerland in 1975, when one man, Petter Mørck, together with a group of leading biochemists, biologists and herbalists, fulfilled his vision and founded Arbonne.”
Arbonne skincare products, based on botanical principles, became a reality in the United States in 1980 and are now shared throughout the world through the Arbonne network of Independent Consultants. Building on these same founding principles, the product line has since grown to include both inner and outer health and beauty products that are unparalleled in quality, safety, value, benefits and results.
With wellness as my passion and having been in it for over 30 years I immediately fell in love with the Arbonne products, especially the wellness nutrition line. I had been looking for a protein powder that was not whey based and that didn’t have the extra ingredients that I couldn’t understand and that were not natural. Arbonne products are vegan and gluten free. I do the daily shake with the nutritious perfectly balanced chocolate shake mix, sometimes vanilla. It provides 20 grams of vegan protein, plus more than 20 essential vitamins and minerals per serving, delivering a 100% amino acid score. It has been clinically tested and certified to have a low glycemic index, which has little effect on blood sugar levels and does not cause a spike in blood sugar. The Arbonne protein shakes that are ready to use help me when I get in a time crunch or just get a little lazy.
Dreams, Plans & New Directions
I used the time to not only learn more about Arbonne but also to think about what I wanted, to understand where my dreams were taking me and how to grow in a manner that would build a complete package of wellness where I could reach out to others with solutions and share what I had learned from the good and bad times. If you are over 60, do you still plan your future? Do you still dare to dream? I must admit as I was planning this crazy plan and dream of what I haven’t finished and want to do a few doubts climbed into my head. At almost 73, I thought why am I making these plans, In eight years I will be 81. Then I thought of Betty White, who is my inspiration and thought “WHY NOT!!!” My granddaughter actually laughed at me and told me I should take my own advice, “Age is ONLY a number! Go for it! So having let those few doubts float away and let the positive energy flow back, I started planning.
Although we will still look at wellness from the perspective of the dimensions of wellness, I also will share the progress of my new journey on this blog and we can learn together. I am sure you will be there with suggestions and a bit of hope should I let those doubts back in. I know my granddaughters will be there with a good nudge in the right direction. I don’t know where this will go or what directions my new journey will lead me, but the anticipation of a new adventure is exciting.
The Road to Self-Discovery
My friend, teacher and one of my favorite photographers, John Paul Caponigro, an Environmental Fine Art Landscape Photographer, had his Creativity class read Joseph Dispenza’s The Way of the Traveler. I took that class in 2006 and I still go back to that book before starting any new adventures. Dispenza says, ” The dream of travel announces that each of us has the power to transform our lives in a fundamental way. And it promises that if we pluck up our courage and agree to undertake the journey, the road upon which we travel will lead to self-discovery. It is no small promise. Every time we leave home and go to another place, we open up the possibility of having something wonderful happen to us.” I can’t wait to see where this adventure will lead!
What are your questions about Wellness? Are you dreaming of new things? Are you still making new plans? Do you take the time to dream? Have you finished everything you wanted to do? If not, why not? Share with me! Take time to stop and smell the roses, and enjoy today. We can learn from yesterday, enjoy and grow in today, and dream and plan the future. Next week I will share where my plans are taking me and some of the preparations I will be making to arrive at my destination. Safe journeys until next week :).
